The Genet – Kanu is his name (Swahili for Genet) he is an African creature that you will see around Dusk all the way through until dawn, He is a cheeky chap who likes to live alone. He likes to sneak around and keep an eye on all that’s happening after dark.
The Porcupines – Pablo and Ash (African crested) these to are fantastic to see in their purpose made enclosure they love to dig and are keen veg eaters happy to meet you for a treat or two. Watch out for those quills..great to see as the sunsets these come out to play.
The Rhea – Also known as the dinosaur birds (South American)
Kevin and Blue (we have no idea if they are male or female yet) are our newest birds to the gang when fully grown will stand 5ft tall and are amazing to watch them run around 30mph..
The Meerkats– A group of meerkats is called a ‘Mob’ and ours consists of 4 girls. Our matriarch is called Queenie and she can often be seen at the highest point of the enclosure surveying the farm, she’s easy to spot as she has a fat thick tail. She lives with her three friends Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Timon and Sergei and are located at the entrance of the farm. As one of the busiest animals at Gemma’s Farm they love interacting with the public and chasing you along the glass wall of their enclosure.
